My fur bums

I've been posting so much about our new boy Brick, that I feel guilty for not giving my fur bums proper recognition!!! Spunky is my 11 year old Queen bee, and Tux is my 6 year old devils spawn!! Regardless, I love them to pieces!! Spunky definately tells both Tux and Brick where they stand in this household!!! hehehehe

Ohhh ya, they are double trouble together!! Tux usually starts it though!! I often wonder if he thinks his name is TuxJesus.......lmao!!!

We also have 2 Giant African Land Snails, 2 Betas, 3 leopard geckos, 1 anole and 2 house geckos. We just got a new house gecko yesterday so now our total for our zoo is 13!!! woo hooooo! The house geckos are really fast and almost impossible to take pictures of, but I'll see what I can do!

This is the biggest of the 2 snails!! His name is Kamau (means silent warrior in some African dialect - not sure which one! ) Kaimah, his sister (so to speak) is smaller, her name means tiny one.

Hmmmmmm, I am suspecting that Brick is not the only one they could gang up on

I am guessing that you keep the others secured away from the double trouble duo that partners in crime cats can be. I still recall Fred, one of my parent's more outgoing cats, swiping his little arm down as far as he could into their 120 gallon saltwater aquarium. I walked up to the tank and saw a white leg and paw in the tank. We quickly learned to keep the door behind it shut! LOL!!!

All of them are VERY cute (although I must confess that I am not a huge reptile fan - no offence, just a personal thing... )

Yeah, all the scaley and slimey critters are in tanks, safe from lingering paws! Although Tux loves to sleep on top of the snails tank - its really warm!!

I wasn't a big reptile fan either until I met Tim, he had the 3 leopards and I got to know them. I cried when Ollie died (one of the anole's). An anole is a type of lizard, similar to a salamander, but they are green with a really long tail. They are small - about the length of your hand. I don't do the feeding ritual - too gross for me (crickets, silkworms and the occasional pinkie mouse) - thats Tim's job!! Although having the crickets in the house reminds me of camping!!! I want to get some salamanders or some newts next!!!

Kamau, the bigger of the 2 snails is about the size of a fist - or small potatoe. Kaimah is about the size of a kiwi fruit. They are pretty cool critters - I love watching them slime up and down the glass!! I'm still waiting for them to lay eggs - they are hermaphrodites so they are both-sexed! And, the weirdest thing.....their "penis" so to speak, comes out from their HEAD!! Trippy!!!

Our fish, Silent Bob and Sonic are in 2 separate tanks - with lids to ward off any paw dippers!! Its always an adventure at our house!!! Thanks for the compliments gang!! I love sharing about my critters and hearing about others pets!!

Don't take this the wrong way Catt, but what we don't do for the man we love . I give you credit though, I guess if my man really liked them I'd try too...but the cleaning of the tanks would definitely be HIS JOB!!! I have to admit the geckos are cool but lady I like escargot!!!!

LMAO - Chany

Thats pretty cool animals you got there. I have a really stupid question...what the heck do you feed giant snails? Do you play with them?
I admit I'm a lizard freak but I'm very afraid that I will not do a good job caring for them..it seems so complicated..I would truly hate to do anything to harm an animal.

No kidding eh Chany??? I draw the line at snakes and spiders though!!! And, I love escargot too, but I think these guys would be a little chewy!!! hehhe

The snails eat lettuce, cucumbers, apples, yogurt, beer......those are their faves....they get scraps of veggies and fruit too....they are sort of like a composter!! LMAO

Actually, lizards are quite easy to take care of.....they only need to eat like once a week if you feed them enough, clean up their poo and pee every so often, and spritz them with water every night! Thats about it really!! Tim calls them the perfect bachelor pet!!! Getting set up can be pricy depending on the type of lizard - some require high priced bulbs, heat lamps, etc. Bearded Dragons are the coolest - but expensive to get set up with all the lamps and tank and stuff they need...but I want one soooooooo badly!!

My neices and nephews love coming over to see them.... they are all so educational!! I feel like I missed out as a kid never being exposed to reptiles....now I feel like a kid when I watch them and play with them! They are pretty cool critters!!!
