Lettin the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier than puttin it back in.

Most of the stuff people worry about ain't gonna happen anyway.

Sounds like she should have done her homework on that breeder. But seeing stories like this makes me wonder, why people pay so much money for their pet.

I guess what I'm saying is, my pet is not my car, its not my TV or my computer, those are inanimate objects. I can't wrap my brain on paying money like that for another living being.

I understand when you adopt an animal you pay an adoption fee, at a shelter or rescue organization. I get that, because they have incurred some expensed keeping the animal healthy and fed and all that other stuff. These are pets THEY came upon, that were in need. They did not willingly bring these animals into the world for the sole purpose of making money off of them.

When I got Vlad, the vet's office I got him from just gave him to me. Oksana on the other hand I adopted at my vets office for $25. I was given a little form stating I had adopted her.

I get that people want "pure breeds" but why? What's so important about having a pure breed? I'm not trying to be confrontational with anyone who does have one. I just want to understand what makes a pure breed German Shepard, that you may get from a breeder better than one you would find at a rescue or shelter? I know, the kennel dog has more history, and the latter was either abused, neglected or lost by someone.

There are so many wonderful pets out there, pure breed, and mixed breed, if you just take the time to look.
