Unhappy doug has died

I am sorry to tell evryone that doug passed away last week. He ended up haveing another stroke and it was just too much when he ended up on life support. My mother made the terrible decision to pull the plug and stop his suffering because he was totally brain dead. But i am also posting that simba needs a good home. He too much for me to handle with too kids and a very limited budget. I hate to do it but i need some advice and quick. If anyone can help please let me know. Thank you

I was wondering on any suggestions about Simba. And i am doing good right now, hard to keep the tears back when you lose family. Its tough and simba is upset too, he seems to whine alot and lay on dougs clothes all the time. Can dogs be upset too?? But i need to find simba a good home and soon, i hate to adopt im out but my budget and time wont allow me to do it. I hate doig this but its tough to work 9 hours a day and then come home, feed the kids, bath them and get them too bed. Some nights poor simba doesnt get to go for a walk and i cant do that to him. Please help me out with this, i dont know what to do and how to handle this.

I am so sorry.
Yes, animals definitely will miss and mourn for a departed family member.
Where do you live, and can you tell us a bit more about Simba?

I don't have the words to express how sorry I am for your loss!

If you can give us a little more information about Simba that would help. There are some people that do rescue work that can maybe help you find a new home for Simba. We here can try and help you find the perfect person to give Simba a great home with a little more information.

Can you post recent pictures of Simba? What are somethings that he enjoys? Does he have a fovourite toy? What kind of training does he have?

Thanks for all your posts. Simba is a purebred male german shepherd. Hes a sable colour i think. i have pictures but they are to big, if i send them to someone can someone cut them down. His favourite toy is his ripped up teddy bear. Hes got papers stateting that he can be used as a show dog or breeding dog. Hes unaltered and uptodate on all his shots. Hes 10 months old and very friendly with kids and not so friendly around male dogs. Hes fine with the girls. Hes very good at protecting his house where he is at. There will be an adoption fee for him but i wanna make sure that he goes to a good home or the right home for him. I thank you for the support it really helps out at a time like this. I miss Doug terribly and i know hes saying thank you to all you guys fo helping me out.

very sorry to hear

So very sorry to hear about Doug. My heart goes out to you and your family at this time. Here is a link to the German Shepherd Rescue in Toronto. We have had some excellent feedback from other rescues who have used their services for transfers etc.. http://www.angelfire.com/on3/toronto...cue/index.html
Hope this helps Simba.

Wow, I"m so very sorry to hear this sad news.

You don't need to do anything with Simba. Simply contact his breeder and they should take him back if they are remotely responsible.

Oh dear! I am soooo terribly sorry for your loss! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Where is Simba located? I would love to help you in your search, or possibly take him in myself and try to find him a good home if you are running out of time. I'm in Calgary though, and I don't know where you are.....

So sad

Please accept my condolences too. I never met Doug, but we exchanged a number of emails while trying to get him a dog. I feel like I lost a close friend.

His star may not have burned for long, but it did burn bright. He had a lasting effect on my life, and I am sure of all those around him, who had the priviledge of knowing him.

I am SOOOOOOOOO very sorry for your loss.My condolenses to you and your family.

Yes,Simba is going to grieve. My GSD Tron is still grieving over the loss of our other GSD Yukon. And this is since Sept.Do you know the name of the breeder Simba came from?LR is right. Please contact the breeder where he came from. They will definately take him back.If you know the name, please PM me,and if you want,I can get in contact with them.I will need all the info. The name of the kennel, the owner, and where they are located. Please hold off on geting in touch with the GSD Rescue. We need to get in touch with the breeder first.

Give Simba extra love and attention for now.Is there anyone who can come and check on him while you are at work?Or maybe a friend or neighbour can take him out for a walk?He really needs to keep busy for now.

Melita is not GSD rescue. Her rescue is Give A Dog A Second Chance.I seem to recall Doug got the dog from her,but I could be wrong. If he did,the dog should go back to her,if she'll take him.If the dog is from a breeder, the dog should go back there, if they will take him.

I am so sorry for your loss

Words cannot express my feelings for you and your family for your loss.
Simba will grieve just as you do, hopefully he can learn to live without Doug,,,,,,,,,, but it will be hard on him just as it is on you.
I think that the suggestions on contacting the breeder or whoever Simba came from and explaining the situation will be the best solution for you and Simba. I cannot see the breeder or the rescue saying that they will not take him back. Somehow I think if the breeder knows the situation they would be upset for not being contacted.
Again, no words can express my thoughts on Doug`s passing. My heart goes out to your family.

Best of luck in your search for a home for Simba.
