whippet (like small greyhound) lost - North Kawartha

Our two-year-old whippet, Devo, is white with brindle patches. She went missing from a cottage we were renting on Loon Call Lake in North Kawartha on July 13, 2004. We went out to run some errands and some friends of ours at the cottage let her out for a pee and she was spooked when they tried to call her back in. She was last seen running down Fire Route #55 towards Anstruther Road. She is scared of most people at first but is friendly. If you see her please just calmly call her, perhaps coaxing with food. She was wearing her collar with a tag that has our home phone number and her name. We are very worried because she's been out for two nights so far and it's been raining so hard. She is very much missed.

Oh dear I truly hope you find her. Alert as many dog pounds as you can, some of them only keep dogs for 4 days and then well...u know!

Here are some other places for you to post the mesg on.

www.lostandfound.ca

www.canadastrays.com

www.petfinder.com

You should do up flyers with her picture and post them EVERYWHERE!

Thanks, Luba.

Devo is microchipped and was wearing her collar with dog tags when she was last seen. Hopefully that would stop any pound putting her down. We are calling around each day to the pounds, city of Kawartha and local humane society (Peterborough). We've posted flyers everywhere.

I hope you find that pretty girl! Tags and a microchip should get her back to you. Do you think she will approach someone if they call her?

she's very timid

I'm not sure that she would. That's the problem - and I think why she hasn't been found yet. She's very timid. Someone would have to be very patient with her and probably coax her with food. She's a rescue dog. This is so heartbreaking. Thank you for your reply.

Gorgeous dog, really great name- very sad circumstances

I'm hoping as hard as I can that you'll find Devo soon!

How far is the cottage from your home? Could she be trying to find her way home? Are you home now, or still at the cottage? She could have returned to either place.....

Oh, I'm sure you've thought of these things already.
Wish I could help.
