Name that breed please !

This dog is one of many that needs a new home. She was "rescue" by a lady who saw her tied up outside in her neighborhood , no water , food or shelter , the lady got fed up , talked to the owner and left with the dog so we don't know too many things about her. Between 6 and 12 months old , about 40 lbs , totally loves everyone , dogs , cats , people , car rides ....

but I need help finding what breed she is she looks like a hound dog to me ....

She's certainly got that hound legginess and a hound face. Could she possibly be crossed with Dane or maybe something smaller, like greyhound or, even smaller, whippet? I'm trying to account for the brindle on the legs and face Do you know if she barks or bays?

Regardless of what her genetic background is, she's a doll! I hope she finds her forever home soon

She's beautiful . Whatever breeds, it would seem she's got some more growing to do...look at those paws .

Definitely hound but who knows what type and I would say crossed with a whippet.

She sure has beautiful markings.

Has the head shape of a hound, but not the long ears, my guess is Black & Tan Coonhound and brindle Whippet.

I don't personally see whippet, do the rest of you see whippet in her conformation, or just because of the brindle colour? It's quite possible that she is a plott hound or plott X, plott's are usually brindle or have brindle markings. Here's a link to some info about plotts. http://www.justdogbreeds.com/plott.html Check out the photos at the bottom of the page.

Could be a plott hound, but a lot of mutts tend to look like them too, so could just be a hound mix. Either way has some kind of hound in it.

HOUND/DOBERMAN looking at the build of the dog. There is something that gives it the brindle (boxer maybe?)

She is real purty Frenchy, she looks kind ....I don't see whippet at all in her, obviously a hound cross of some kind though imo.

Can I change my guess? After looking at Gail's link, I now say Plott Hound. The expression, the ears (especially), confirmation, coloring all seem right.

I don't know a lot about dogs, but she does look houndy to me, like a pointer breed to.

I think Plott Hound too.
Lot of hounds in our community, and unfortunately, it is not uncommon for them to be outside most of their existence.
Thank you French for grabbing this guy.
My husband will be chomping at the bit to get a hound. He is convinced he can teach a dog to track!

MM's hubby is not allowed to have a hound.
For future note: he is also not allowed to have a tank, or to eat any steak bigger than his head.

Just adopted out a Plott hound that looked a lot like that. They are known for their brindle colour.
