Wink Stew and Vigo

hi there, I'm stew, and perched on my lap at this moment is 4 month old Vigo The Carpathian(the "Scourge of Carpathia", also known as Vigo the Cruel, Vigo the Torturer, Vigo the Despised, and Vigo the Unholy http://ghostbusters.wikia.com/wiki/Vigo) Don't let the names throw you off, he's a lovey little thing once he settles down. I figure if I'm naming a cat, it's gotta have some style, a bit of zazz, a little danger and mystique.
It's been 20 years since I've had a kitten around full time(my mom's cat GQ, lived to 17, he was like a brother). It's been a trying, sleep-deprived, and rewarding month since I adopted him. The kitten energy was something to get used to after so long with only adult cats, but he's slowly training me into the human he needs.
This picture is from day one.
I had intended on adopting an adult, but the moment I saw him, I just couldn't resist. He reminded me so much of my mom's dear old cat(scrawn, old man). I decided he's my match and we bonded quickly.
Some day, he'll be a grand, shining example of feline superiority. But until then, I'm cool with having a kitten companion.

Welcome to the board, Stew and Vigo! I'm with Marko--that's the cutest Scourge I've seen in a while!

Welcome. You have high expectations for Vigo. I think I see a little glint in his kitten eyes that says he's up for it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm sure we'll find this forum to be beneficial as I feel a little out of touch with kitten care, I'd like to be sure I'm doing the right things for Vigo. The rescue center I adopted him from gave me some pretty solid advice: he's a kitten.
As I have discovered, kittens are specifically designed to mess with you through the most creative behavior quirks in the animal kingdom. Over time, the quirks and "irritating" behavior becomes their most endearing qualities... or the cat has finally broken your will. It's all good, who needs willpower and self-worth when a perky fuzzball comes stumbling to the door half asleep still to say hello after a day at work.

Scourge is adorable. No one will judge him based on nicknames. Mine all got termed things like Menace and Monster and Vampire Dog during their kitten/puppy hood. There was a thread here a while ago on nicknames, and I saw some very similar ones from other members for their pets. We've all been through it(but it's worth it).
