My cat needs help

Hello guys im new to the forum
I have a 13 year old male cat
He has always been a little overweight and recently he started shedding pounds. You would say hes average now but the time in which he lost the weight is scaring me. He drinks water excessively now and he keeps going in our bathtub and making, when he does make, blood comes out. We have taken him in for several tests but nothing has been found. He was put on antibiotics though which helped for a while but everything has come back.
We're thinking our last resort is a biopsy or a cat-scan. Overall its been weight loss, drinking alot of water and bleeding when making. do any of you know what symptoms these sound like?

Could be a lot of things (diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroid, etc). What sorts of tests did the vet do? Full blood panel and urinalysis?

Is he bleeding while he's peeing or while he's pooping?

If while peeing he could have a serious urinary blockage, has the vet xrayed his kidneys, bladder & urethra?

Can you take him in for a second opinion?

I believe our kitty experts have asked all the pertinent q's.... so all I can add is and that you find out what it is and he recovers soon!

Increased water consumption is a VERY IMPORTANT sign. Blood and urine tests are well worth their time. There are typically 12 causes for increased water consumption and in cats here are the top three: kidney disease, diabetes mellitus and hyperthyroidism. (technically there are 25 causes, but let's not worry about that right now).

The earlier the testing can be performed, the better the prognosis, the easier it will be to manage and the cheaper it will be long term. Best of luck

I would get him to the Vet and have a full lab workup done so they can pinpoint the problem. Being 13 yrs. old is like an eldery person, so many medical problems can crop up and without testing it hard to find the problem.
