Hi Folks,
John and JR here... we're new and hoping to be active participants in this forum... Here's JR waiting for the bushy-tailed rodent above to make a fatal mistake. More photos at www.pbase.com/jonmor |

We have enough squirrels to go around--JR would get along with my crew...no problem!
That's a great picture, John! What kind of camera are you using?

Welcome to the forum John from an old gal who loves cats. (and dogs, and just about anything on four legs. Two legs I sometimes have issues with!) Beautiful picture! Seems like we have a few professional photogs on here now.

Hi Folks
and thanks for the warm welcome. I took that photo with my Nikon coolpix 5700, and I am now using a Canon 20d. It's pretty around here. I recently retired from being a lighthouse keeper.. we still have 27 staffed lighthouses in BC. That beach is Storeys Beach, one of the real neat places around Port Hardy. Yes, Frenchy, JR has done his share for rodent control. He's 11 now and hasn't slowed down a bit, just a wonderful dog who has been with me every day of his life since I got him at ten weeks old. |

JR looks great for 11 years old.
So how long did he wait for the squirrel before he gave up?

a tree for almost six hours. The squirrel was getting pretty mad because he wanted to come down. JR was pretty mad when I made him come home with me! Oh, he's 11 now, but he was about 7 when I took that photo. Still looks great though, and still strikes fear into the hearts of rodents up and down the coast. |
