Overactive Tear Ducts

Hey everyone! My Shi Tzu has overactive tear ducts and I am constantly cleaning out the folds on his muzzle. This in itself is a pain in the butt, however, I think that the cleaning itself is starting to irritate his face. Any suggestions?

I also talked to my vet about this situation and he said that there is a surgery that can fix this problem...does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know about the surgery but my Shih-Tzu has the same problem. My doctor wants to test her for that tear duct problem.
