Jumping Off Furniture

Hi Everyone!

Need some advice. My bf and I recently got new couches. The cats are use to laying on our old crappy ones which is our fault so they naturally want to lay on these ones. We dont mind that but they are jumping off so hard and leaving scratches with their back claws. We have clipped, tried the spray to keep them off, blankets (which they scratch right through) Any advice on what we can use when we are not there to enforce the no couch rule?
