Pet-friendly hotels
Hi folks,
I'm planning a trip to the US, especially to New England. However, I will not have the possibility to find a sitter for my dog. So I was wondering if you know some good dog-friendly hotels in the region or hotel search sites in general who can search for pet-friendly accommodations. I already tried www.trivago.ca and booking.com, but couldn't find a regarding search option. Who has already experiences with such pet-friendly hotels? Are they really recommendable? My MinPin is very active and for other people sometimes a little difficult. |

Hi Simon... expidia.ca gives you the option of searching hotels that accept pets, and even when you look for any hotel on that site, on the description it will tell you if pets are accepted and the fees.

When we moved from Ontario out west, I was transporting 3 cats and a dog. We never had a problem with our animals and getting rooms. We stayed in chain hotels and mom and pop places. They would normally give us a room near an outside door so I wouldn't have to traipse through the lobby with everyone. I'm pretty sure all the big chains have smartened up and allow pets with no problem, some may charge a bit extra for the extra cleaning they do. I always asked too before even asking for a room.

Wow, thank you very much! The links have been very helpful. I should have used Google more carefully - maybe I would have found them on my own. So I'm also a bit sorry for taking your time.
I hope the hotels have big windows. Jimmy's new hobby is sitting on the window board like a cat and overseeing the street. |

I think they really enjoy getting to see new views from the windows. I thought mine would be totally stressed out. They love hotel rooms! New spots to explore, new smells, new sights. Just as long as they have their kitty box and food, all is good. It took us a week and no one went off their food, I think there was one or two accidents at the beginning of our journey and that was it. We were very lucky!
