Smile Ontario pet stores have spaying and neutering programs?

I was in Ottawa today, and I noticed on the side of the Petsmart, and Petland pet stores that one had a spay-neuter clinic inside, and the other had animals for adoption... We have nothing like that in Quebec!! Are those for real? Are they everywhere?

Petsmart's have animals for adoption, yes.
Never seen a petland soo I'm unsure how often the spay/neuter clinics happen.

Haven't seen a spay/neuter program at the PetSmart in Toronto (Laird store). The Humane Society no longer runs an adoption program through this store for dogs or cats. There are definitely cats up for adoption at this store, but through an independent rescue group.

It would be wonderful if pet stores here in Quebec (Montreal) could offer s/n programs, but I have yet to find a store big enough to house the opperation.

When you look at Petsmart, petco, petcetra they are all huge warehouse/outlet size stores. . .most house lots of toys/food, the pets themselves (adoptions), grooming, pet photography and now s/n clinics. . . .I know the little store I go to wouldn't have the space.

Still being new to Quebec, are there big stores like there are in Ontario?

I would love a 'one stop shop' in Quebec!!! I get their nails trimmed in one place, I get their food in another, litter in another, treats in other, toys in yet another store! Plus their 'real' vet is in Ontario!

hahaha, at least I get Airmiles with my gas purchases! hahah!

Petsmart's in Ontario house Humane Society cats for adoption. They have adoption fairs on certain weekends and have many other pet-friendly services. Petsmart actually does not sell any non-humane society cats, or dogs for that matter. They do sell birds, fish and small animals though.

I've yet to see one of these here. The big English companies tend to believe that French people spend far less on their pets than English people do.

I would love to have a place with all the dog toys imaginable! Air dogs are do hard to find these days. Not to mention a pet store that is even remotely responsible.

JDG, there is a huge Nature pet store on St.Jean Blvd in the Maxi shopping centre.

However they sell mill puppies and kittens, and they declaw the kittens, so I'm sure you don't want to shop there.

I get my cats' toys at the Dollar store, and all their food at Ani Gourmet or you can go to Mondou.

I clip my cats' nails myself.

So we'll one-stop-shop at Lucky's house?
