Finally got a pic of one of the baby koi

The second largest baby, Ditto. Alone in the first pic, with his father Moose in the second and a bad pic of his mother, Midge.

So this is one of last year's babies, Cindy? He's so big!! Very pretty, too! Takes after his Mom a lot!!

So, how can you tell gender? And how do you know Midge and Moose are the parents?

Aww, I love him! So bright and colourful. Have you seen any of the other ones? I think you mentioned most of them survived the winter this year? It must be a great feeling to see them come to the surface once the weather starts warming.

Yes, I have seen more of them. The two largest are Ditto and Spot. There are at least 8 much smaller ones, one that looks a lot like Ditto, one that I think is going to look like Moose and 3 or 4 white ones with large black spots on them. A couple of all black ones and one super large splotchy gray one that I have no idea what he's going to look like as an adult. They'll be a decent size by the end of summer the way they're all eating, so some are going to have to be rehomed this fall.
