Looking for a vet in Ottawa, ON

I'm looking for a different vet because the vet I've dealt with before was very "impersonal". My cat was sick, and while he was there, he was seen by 8 different vets over 3 days. He's fine now, but for his next vaccination and so on, I want to find a clinic where a vet-pet relationship can develop and where if I have a question, I'll call, and the vet who's been seeing my cat would be the one calling me, not somebody else I've never heard of.

I'm a student, so a clinic with reasonable costs would be great, although I'm expecting costs to be about the same across the city.

Finally, a clinic closer to the downtown area would be preferable, but I'm willing to go outside of downtown to find the best vet out there.

I'm not from Ottawa but here is a website that you can check your area for veterinarian ratings to see what others have said ....

I would strongly recommend Dr. Keith Johnson at the Carling Animal Hospital.
I know one of his professors from the vet college he attended, who recommended him.
He was excellent with my cherished Rottie and took the time to answer all of my phone calls personally. They use new technology and are very compassionate.
PM me if you need more information.

Thanks guys. I'm closer to Pretoria, but I'll call Carling as well, and see what their fees are.

just a note: with any clinic where there's multiple vets, if you perfer to deal with only one doc, make sure you tell the reception staff etc about your preference and specify that you'd like to speak with Dr. so-and-so; it's pretty common for vets to help each other out by taking over cases or making phone calls if things get busy.
