pug has bloody diareah
our rescue pug has had a mucusy bloody soft stool for 3 days it ws bloody for the 1st 2 days now back to brown. Put her on rice and cottege cheese diet to see if it would firm it up. anyone have any other suggestions. I'm trying to get her into the vet tomorrow.

I'm glad you're getting to the vet, diarrhea that lasts a while, gets worse and bloodly really should be seen by a vet.
I tend to do a 12 hour (min) fast in such situations, during which I give the dog homemade broth, pedialyte and slippery elm powder every couple of hours, then move on to small, bland meals w/slippery elm if all is well. That said though, my dogs are far bigger than a pug and I don't know if there are special considerations for little dogs. Slipper elm powder can be really handy to have on hand for gastro problems. Obviously not a replacement for seeing a vet, but given at the first sign of trouble it can often stop things from getting worse and helps to sooth the whole digestive system. |

Great plan! Non flavored pedialyte can also help to replace electrolytes as well as fluid while we are recovering. Best of luck.
