Help Wanted
A list serve I belong to, posted this today.
Hello, My name is Karen, I currently live in southwest Georgia. I am originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and when I moved a year ago I had to leave my 4 precious kitties at a kennel. I had no idea it would take this long to get my green card for the USA but they have been at the kennel all this time and last week I found out that the kennel owner placed them with the Winnipeg Humane Society without telling me. I have contacted the humane society and they informed me that they only have the younger 2 of the cats and had no idea where the others were. Oliver is a 2 yo tabby, Beau is 1.5 yo part persian. They are best friends and I have begged them to please give me the opportunity to try to get them to me before they are adopted out. They have agreed to wait. Mozart and JoJo were located at another kennel for long-haired cats as they are also part persian. They are littermates, brother and sister and are 13 years old. These 4 cats are my pride and joy and I desperately want them back. They have all their shots, not sure if the 2 young ones were neutered or not, I did put in a request for that from the kennel vet but they never answered me. Mozart and JoJo are both neutered and spayed respectively. Please if anyone can help me get my babies out of those places, I would be eternally grateful. I can't bear to go much longer without them. I would be willing to have them fostered or adopted out if I had a say in who got them, but right now that doesn't seem possible. If you have any means of helping me whatsoever, or have any questions, please reply to this post or e-mail me at dragonfly_in_amber1745@yahoo.com I appreciate your feedback and any suggestions. Thank you. Karen |

Karen should just go see a lawyer or community legal clinic.

This is VERY sad, but if the cats were at the kennel for a year and there were unpaid bills or lack of contact, the kennel would consider the cats to be abandoned.
Of course, if the bills were paid up and this person was in touch with the kennel, she would certainly have a case. I hope she finds these babies. |
