great shots

Love the pics of the Pileated! I have never seen one before (i've seen pictures). They aren't native species here in PEI and the sightings of them are rare. But, a few have been reported around here lately.

When I get to see one, I hope I can get some shots as good as these!

The sun was in my eyes and I was just shooting like crazy...at that point I could tell he had something in his mouth but couldn't see what because of the sun. I just crossed my fingers that the pic turned out...then did a little happy-dance when I got back to my computer and saw that it did! The whole "photo-shoot" was about 5 minutes long...

They're really loud, aren't they Frenchy? I've had all kinds of little woodpeckers around my house this winter (Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers) but haven't seen one of these in a while. As soon as I heard him I knew who it was...I'm so pleased he was willing to pose for me!

14+ I imagine when you have 14+ it's darn near impossible to find time...
