Unexpected Rat Parenting

Me and my boyfriend recently got two rats from a general humane society, who we thought were fat but ended up being pregnant... being too attached to them, and being their new forever home, we didn't return them due to this discovery. They're due to pop soon, and I know rittens aren't like puppies, not every one is DIEING to have one. Does any one have any idea's on what to do with the babies? I would perfer to avoid that nasty word "feeder" in this process, I don't like the idea of perfectly mannered rats turning into snake food

Both are preggers? Maybe find a rodent rescue... Sorry, I know that doesn't help much.

Both are preggers....well...was. Chiyo gave birth today at 1 pm, and the birth lasted a little over an hour. 12 cute little pink bodies are squirming in the nest, but I dare not to touch them. I cant seem to find a rodent rescue in Idaho, which is saddening...

Wow, so many! What if you put an ad up somewhere and screen the people yourself.

Babies

Best thing to do too is to over charge for them. Most people wanting a rat as a pet will gladly pay a little more for one that is well socialized.

Also, you can ween out any people that will be buying them for feeders. I got two little boys a short time ago and paid far too much for them (in comparison to a pet shop), but knowing that their mom wanted them to be in very good homes was good enough for me.
