Primary house hold treatment for bruise on dog nose

We just discovered that our 11 months old dog (Border Collie and Husky) has a small bruise (size: 2-3 mm) on his nose, which is pinkish in colour and a layer of thin skin is off (most likely due to any abrasion or friction). Before heading for expensive vet call, is there any house hold item we could use to treat that bruise ?

It might be a dumb question, but I would like to know, can human ointment like "Polysporin" is applicable for a dog ?

You can use a polysporin on your dog, but if your dog is anything like our Loki, he will hate it and just rub it off (and make the mark even worse!). I'd just let it be, bruise and all - monitor it, but wouldn't be rushing off to the vet just yet. Granted, if you have a sliver of doubt, always best to go just in case

Thanks for the reply, last night my wife applied a thin layer of Polysporin and we got the result by morning. It was very good to know this house hold treatment works.

Thanks again and say hello to your Loki :-)
