Doing Duties INSIDE
Did any of you have dogs/pups that did duties inside? Hannah has done maybe two pees and now two poops inside..I was getting ready this morning to take her out,and apparently after what I found, she didnt need to go out anymore..
ANy good ideas how to avoid accidents like this? I do every thng I can to avoid these accidents...Iam very diligent in taking Hannah outside..I guess this morning I wasnt diligent enough! |

Isn't Hannah just a pup? Is she crate trained?

If she is only having accidents at night, then I have a couple of suggestions. Feed her her last meal of the night around 5:00 p.m. Pick up the water dish about 7:00 p.m. Make sure that the very last thing you do before you go to bed is take her outside. And she is out as soon as you wake up in the morning. First thing.
She is still very young. Accidents do happen.

Hi Sandi
THanks, but her accidents are happening during the day...she pooped inside this morning...I was just about to get her to take her outside, when I realized it was too late... She hasnt had an accident inside her crate and now can sleep through the night...Her accidents are my fault I guess Iam gonna crate her after she eats for a few mins...so that I dont have to watch her, then take her out for duties and see if I can get her regular... |

I guess your only other option is to keep a closer eye on her then. I am sure that she will be fine as she gets a bit older.

I agree, Hannah is just a baby, and she will have accidents. The most important thing to remember is if you do catch her going in the house, say ahh-ahh (firmly but gently, as you don't want her to think you don't want her going in your prescence) and pick her up (don't let her finish), and quickly take her outside to finish. Then praise her like crazy!! It has worked with Solara. At 17 weeks she very rarely goes in the house - only if we gone for an extended period of time (work days).
Good Luck!!
