A reward of $2000 is being offered for the safe return of the dogs!!! We are still trying to confirm the exact dogs in the vehicles. There are 4, possibly more. Us in Ottawa are trying to communicate with those in Montreal for updates. The dogs and team were from the Ottawa area!!!

IF these dogs were let loose (lets' pray not ) please keep in mind they may not stay together. If you see any stray dogs matching these descriptions, please call the number listed above.

Trying to help!!

My name is Taralyn, and I work for the Jack Astor's on Blvd. des Sources as a hostess. I was there when the incident happened, and I stood by helpless as these people tried desperately to do everything they could to find their dogs. I couldn't help thinking that if this was my dog, what would I do?

I just wanted to say, as of right now, a bunch of our staff have posted this link in our Facebook statuses, and we are going to continue to help as much as possible in trying to find these dogs and make sure they get home safely.

It isn't much, but we hope that it helps.

Please, if you can think of anything that might get the word out, besides this thread. If you have a twitter, facebook, myspace, ways of contacting the press, newspapers, friends, family, texting, email, anything. Please do so.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families, and I have faith that someone spots them and returns them home where they belong.

My thoughts and prayers are with you too. I am a manager who works at another Jack Astors in Mtl. I just spent some time tonight once I found out what happened. I hope the dogs are found. These dogs are helpless, and I hope to God whoever did this at least has a heart to do the right thing with the dogs.

Hope good news comes soon

DOGS WERE FOUNDS !!!! THANK YOU to everyone for all your good wishes, help & positive thoughts!!! So someone called the SPCA when they saw the dogs tied in a park somewhere in Montreal. The SPCA went to get them and had their pictures in hand, and knows all their names, and they have been fed and watered and tucked in for the night!

oH THANK GOODNESS! I was so scared it wasn't going to be a happy ending! The owners and the dogs must be so happy to be reunited. Thank goodness the crooks had the heart not to harm the dogs and to tie them so they wouldn't wander into traffic!

What a relief !!

Well after 3-1/2 hours sleep had to check this. I will notify my friend in Martintown/Cornwall area. We are waiting for a very good rescue group to come later today for our "foundling" - between these 2 events enough to put you in an early grave - worrying to death !! So happy they were found - much more important than a truck or anything else material !!!

What a relief this had a happy ending. Thankfully whoever stole that truck didn't hurt the dogs.

All the dogs are healthy and are on their way back to Ottawa now! The owners were all interviewed by CTV (not sure if in Montreal or Ottawa), keep an eye out on the news for the full story. We are so so happy they are all safe and on their way home. Trucks and cars can be replaced, our dogs and pets cant!

CTV Montreal showed the interview. Email that was circulated amongst rescues yesterday ...

Subject: PS: 4 dogs safe found tied to fence!!

I've learned from quebec rescuers that it is not unusual in quebec for people to break car windows and steal dogs, as well as steal the car with dogs in it. then they sell them to mills or research. I know you have ENOUGH to do, but word has to go out about not ever leaving dogs in vehicles in quebec, or at least montreal. public service announcements? 20 seconds on radio would do it...repeated...or an article in the paper...or if you can ask the SPCA to do this (they do that in ontario re: weather and dogs). I hope that something positive can come from the horror these dogs and owners went through...maybe save another dog's life from being doomed.
