I think Vet is crazy
I have resently received a 3 month old beagle who I adore. The older couple who owned her before me just couldn't keep up with her. Any way I thank god she came to me because she is wonderful. I have taken smeagle to the vet because I have been noticing blood in her stools. The vet told me that nothing is wrong it is because she is in a new house and on new food. This just doesn't seem normal to me. I have two other dogs who I have adopted and neither one of them had this problem. I would sure like any advise on how I can help my little girl. Thanks in advance

I would go to another vet.

Is it in all her stool, or just occasionally? All vets are not created equal! When I moved to Michigan three years ago, I "tried" two different vets before settling on the third, whom I adore and trust. The first guy was a $$hungry whackjob, I wouldn't take a houseplant to the guy never mind a living animal! Or...if the blood was a one-time event and Smeagle is otherwise healthy and worm-free, the vet might be right, not to insult him without cause....

Well blood is a warning sign of something isn't it!
Get to another vet and take a stool sample with you in a sterile container!

Does the puppy have her vaccinations? Been dewormed? Stool sample analyzed? Does she have diarrhea along with the blood?
I wouldn't want to hazard a guess as to why there is blood, but I would certainly try a second vet. |

Smeagle has had all of her shots and I have the paper work form the previous owners. She has been dewormed and that's what I thought it was at first as well but after looking further in the paper work they gave me I found that she had been.

So what are you going to do?

The only thing I can think to do is just keep taking her to different vets until one of them listens to me. Some people would say that is wrong but my dogs are my children and I take care of them as such. It could get pricey but I'll do what I have to do!
