geriatric care

my old dog has "weepy eyes" and an eye cyst. Have been using drops for "allergies" to clear the eyes of mucous, however she has deep stains which get encrusted-normal products from pet store don't work. Can I use a home remedy to keep the eyes clean and clear (she is starting cataracts)plus stop the matting and brown stains under her eyes?

Weepy eyes in geriatric dog - Answered by Dr. Guindon

Carolann,

A homeopathic eye solution called OPTALIA (check your pharmacy) can help for itchy, running eyes due to allergies.
However, all eye conditions should be seen by a Veterinarian as a more serious problem could be the
nature of an ongoing eye disease.
