please come back summer, i miss you

oh i want to come over to your house for a swim. it is so bloody cold here, i am sick of it. oh i miss summer sooo much. it hasnt gotten over 10c here in ages, i am such a whinger. but hey
in the middle of a drought winter isnt to bad, it is cold yes but we have the clearest bluest days i have ever seen it has not rained here where i live in over 8 months, i brought a new umbrella last year and have yet to take of the plastic (my mother thinks that my buying the brolly caused the drought, yeah goood one mum, that makes soooo much sense to me, forget meteorology, lets just use wives tales to preduct weather ).
and like i said to my sister, if we die in the drought at least we will know we died on the most beautiful days (my sister replied, 'god your an idiot' )lollol.
but early fire season this year, bugger, everything is so dead and so easy to burn, it is shaping up to be a big one, but hoping it is not. cant wait till summer returns, i can the relax the muscles in my neck as winter bunches me up, husband says he cant wait till summer as i may actually leave the house then .
do you have cold winters there? being desert what is night like??

I have that problem with my neck and the cold too. Would much rather be too hot than too cold. Hubby would disagree with me. I love my down comforter on a cold night!

Holy CRAP heidi, that is HOTTTTT!!!!! At least it isn't too humid there!!!

On the last day of the Stampede (last Sun.) it was 42 degrees Celcius on the fair grounds (asphalt - black tar type concrete).......plus it was sooo humid. I lived in Ontario for a few years, and spent many hot humid summers there as well. Alberta was NEVER humid but the past 2 years its been muggy like Ontario...ugh!!! Sticky yucky humid!!! BLECHHH!!!

Glassy - you need a DOWN comforter in CALIFORNIA????????? LMAO

Low humidity makes a big difference!

Ok, now you know. I like my creature comforts! I can't stand any heat in the house at night at all. I get all stuffy. Love a warm bed in a cold room! We get a freeze maybe 10 nights or less a winter. Do you Canadians have hot tubs? Makes a freezing night really something to look forward to!

down here we have hot tubs, i am assuming that is a bath tub. only problem for me is the part where one has to take off cloths to get in the bath, i cant do it, tooooo cold for a few secounds, it is like getting into bed at night. i actually get into bed fully clothed (no shoes of course). i then warm the bed and then get into my jamies in the bed when it is warmed up it works well for me

Mel,no with do not mean BATH-TUB
A hot-tub is very similar to a Jacuzzi(sp???)if you know what that is you can seat several people in it,with hot bubbly water(forgot the name of those thingys!!).
Here,it's warm and humid, everything is incredibly green for July, flowers are flourishing, except for my roses, too much rain for roses they are blooming but not as many as last year.
When I was in Alberta(Pincher Creek)the air was so dry,it dried my bathingsuit in minutes,no humidity at all,but it also made my skin dry and itchy, poured on the moisturizer

Ah Heidi, my neighbor!

Here in New Mexico we've been flirting with 100 degrees for a week. We'll hit it, and I'll do a happy dance. I must admit, whenever we do I say "Woo hooo! Arizona has nothin on us now!!" tee hee....

Anything below eighty degrees is too cold for me.
And yes, I'm originally from Ontario Canada.

I love my desert!

Hey neighbor, that is to funny,it has been horrible here,it wants to rain so bad,but it just isnt doing it,the only thing i miss is the beach,i love it so much,i have it tattoed in chinese on the back of my neck, someday when i am rich i will have place on the beach, the great thing is no tornados,no hurricanes,no earthquakes, the weather doesnt get to cold,if you can jsut live through summer, for the one who asked about the desert nights,it can get really cold on the outskirts of phoenix in the winter..

Hot-tubbing in CA

OK Mel, this is for you. I had to dig back 20 years ago for these pictures. This was my Den-Den 3. He loved the hot-tub. In summer heat, we kept it at 92 degrees F.- About 5 degrees below body temp. Refreshing! This is me with my parents. When Den-Den wanted in, he'd put his paw on your shoulder, and when you told him ok, he hopped in.
