Proud of my boy!

Yesterday DH's brother, wife and 3 children came for a visit. We had a nice time and the kids are all getting big! The youngest is 2 next week, and then the others are 6 & 8. They are really well behaved children which also helped. Having said all that I am sooo proud of Winston! He was on his BEST behaviour! One of the girls wants to be a vet and loves animals. She spent the whole time with Winston...He was so very gentle. He wasnt anxious or overly stimulated, just plain ole happy! He let her do all of the tricks he knows which was cool! She was giggling when she told him to sit pretty and up he went on his hind legs holding his paws into his chest! He got belly rubs and lots of pets! Sometimes Winston can be overly anxious and be far too excited to even understand his onw name but not tonight!

There was one point when the youngest one was not sure about Winston and he came barreling over and started petting his head and Winston just sat there looking at me as if to say "is this what I am suppsed to do Mom?"

He was a very good boy!

Good boy, Winston!!!! , hope mommy gave you lots of your favourite treats .

Some people have a special touch with animals, perhaps your niece has been gifted with it?

What a sweet boy. It's great that the parents have taught the kids to play responsibly.

You might have a real gem on your hands in Winston. Some dogs just know to be gentle with children, old people or frail people. I see it in my breed often. Big hugs for a special boy, and I know how proud you'd be. My darling from the past, Shady(a cattle dog) was lying asleep outside a show ring once when along came some frail elderly people with a nurse, from the local nursing home. One old chap could only whisper and asked if she was a blue heeler, and you know Shady, who was not a touchy feely dog by any means, got up and stepped in real close to him and stayed there, not moving a muscle, while he patted her. I think it made his day and mine, I was soooo proud of her.
