Cat with mouth problem

Before we take a very reluctant cat to the vet, wondering if anyone can shed light on what is happening with her mouth, noticed pinkness and slight swelling but wasn't sure if anything, now there is a blackened area of gum on the side of her mouth, seems some gum at front is red (looks like skin is "peeled" bit). Teeth seem fine and she is 12ish. Wondering if antibiotics would help. Thanks

It could be anything from gingivitis to cancer. Reluctant or not, she needs a vet asap.
