anxiety pooping?
Hi all,
Leo, my otherwise housetrained coonhound, has taken to pooping (and sometimes peeing) in the house when left alone. This is a new thing. Anyone know why he would be doing this? Leo is crate trained, but I haven't been locking him in his crate during the day because he's always been very well behaved on his own in the house. But now, this. Should I start crating him again? I'm only gone for 5 hours and I walk him before I leave in the morning. |

How old is Leo?

Leo
He's approximately 5 - he's a rescue dog. We adopted him about 2 weeks ago. The indoor pooping started a few days ago.

Ahhhh, rescues. Gotta love em.
I would start from scratch. Pretend you've got a new, unhousebroken puppy, and go back to crating and routine potty breaks after meals, play, waking up, etc.

Thanks, I will give that a try. I guess Leo is going back to the crate, at least for the time being, when we're not home.
