Thanks, and although the great dane is almost fully grown now, they still sleep like that.

As for being , only when they sleep, as soon as awake, , would be a better descriptions

I would say a puppy, a toddler eventually grows up, some puppies stay puppies for the rest of their life

Welcome to the forum, DayaXaron! Hard to believe, but I'm thinking that your two dogs weigh more than my six all together! They sure are beautiful! And I'm really looking forward to more pictures! especially if you post them all one at a time like that--I have a really rotten connection most of the time

English setters...about 300 pounds of them...so maybe we still have you beat...but sure as heck not by much! he he he
And I do appreciate the weight-control on the attachments ...dial-up can be such a pain...

Thank you, and yes they are very soft, they feel just like velvet. And their characters are accordingly.

Welcome and I enjoyed the picture of you gorgeous dogs.
The breeder I got my Chinese Crested from also has DDB they recently imported a 4 month old pup from Hungary, his first time in the show ring he decided to have a nap. I was quite impressed that even as puppies they could be so laidback.

Going from IWs to a DDB and GD , I do like your picks, of the laidback lazier breeds. I hope you will share some of your IW pictures, there are so few in North America, only few breeders in the southern US around Texas and California, so a breed we rarely ever get to see. I am hoping this summer to get out to take in some coursing events with hopes one will be there, so I can finally see a live one not just in pictures, actually sighthound are pretty scarce it has taken a lot of work to try to changed the myths of what they are like, inorder to get the ex-racing greyhounds into pet home, or course having breed books printed in the US that state one requires a horse inorder to provide proper exercise to a sighthound as they need to be run 20 miles a day sure scares off a lot of people from wanting them. a quite a few people wrote to the author through the publisher to correct them and in the next edition they changed the 20 miles to 10 miles but you still need the horse (idiots)

Now why does that not surprise me at all, that the DDB pupy just took a nap in the ring. I am a 100% sure that Gimli would do exactly the same. Taking naps is about the only thing he does 24/24. About 2 times a day he gets his little fit, the HE decides it is play time, which means everybody has to drop everything they are doing and Play ! Now !.

As for my beloved Irish. It is getting harder to find breeders over here also. I am on 2 waiting lists for a year now.
And no mather what people think or write about hounds, and sight hounds, Irish are the most layed back dogs I ever had. Most of the time i had 4 of them. Once i took one to an initiation for field coursing. To make a long story short, it ended with me running after the hare and my Irish just sitting there, very relaxed watching.

You asked for picts of them, well i have loads, but here is a start.
This was my last little puppy

After 18 months it turned into this

Btw, anyone who would claim you should run an Irish for those ridiculous distances is a plain idiot. It would simply kill the dog. Irish are very fast runners but only for very short distances. They do not have any endurance. Up untill the age of almost a year you are not even allowed to walk them for more then a mile at the time.

PS : it does not really show in the pict, but that gentle giant had a shoulder height of a 102 cm

All legs

Yes he used to stumble over his own paws. As for adorable, well... at that age they are very adorable... in pictures. With IWs you have to survive the first 18 months, or more, your house has. They are the most destructive dogs you can imagin. And it is not just an occasional dog, or at an occasional moment, they All demolish your Complete house All of the time. The only thing you can do is adjust your house, there is no way you are going to adjust the Irish. Not really their fault, they are playfull young puppies, and curious, so they chew on things. Problem is that those cute little puppies already have the size, strength and teeth of an adult sheppard dog. The good news is, with every one of my Irish, at the age of 18 months it stopped. At that moment they come to their senses and from one day on the other they suddenly become the most obedient, calm, and lovely dogs, even without any serious training.

omg what a BIG doggy! That's so amazing! I've seen some at the dog show here and when you meet one, you definitely fall in love right away. Gentle giants all the way.

I love the pic of your two together too. That's a great shot.
