chews/sucks on tail

My kitten is about 6months old now and she does everything normal, but she loves to chew or suck on her tail till no end. she gets so involved in it its tough to pry her away and she just goes right back to doing it. Her tail is fine after it dries out but is this unhealthy for her and is there anything I can do to stop this?

thanks
reed

This is not good. Every time you see her sucking on her tail, clap your hands lightly, throw her a toy or catnip mouse, or otherwise distract her.

Cats can get very obsessive/compulsive about things, and she may do herself serious damage this way.

You might want to also try Rescue Remedy - which you can get at a health food store - to calm her a bit and break this habit.
