Ah, sorry to hear.
Has this been going on for a period of time or is this an isolated incident? Has she ingested something she shouldn't have? |

Since she is vomitting and shivering I would take her to the vet. Good luck and keep us posted.

Day 2
she still will not eat. I have tried everything, rice, chicken and nothing. I took her back to the vet again today to get hydrated but havent seen much of improvement yet. Any ideas how to get her to eat?

Is she still at the vet or did they send her home still not eating/drinking?
Did they run any tests at all? |

I have the same questions as diandpat .....at the very least, bloodwork and a urinalysis should have been done and if she is refusing to eat she should stay at the vet so they can keep her hydrated.

Thank you for all that tried to help..
Monday we took Ariel back to the vet to get rehydrated. Growing uncomfortable with the current vet, We took her to our original vet (wasn't open on Sunday, when all started). We had a Blood Test done...... Most of the readings were extremely high....She was suffering from a Kidney problem and Pancreatitis. The diagnosis from the doctor was not encouraging and she was not confident on full recovery. We had to have her Put to sleep::sad:.. ![]() |

Still think of her
My family is working through the tough times, sometimes we are sitting watching TV and my wife swares she heard Ariel drinking her water.. We are looking for another puppy, but realized the high cost is purchasing a puppy. Ariel was free "for a good home".. WE feel she got a great Home for the 8 years she was here. We looked at adopt and Pet stores.. But are very causious.
It was tought through the holidays but getting better.. We will never forget her.. ![]() ![]() Thank you for all your thoughts.. I know what you all are going through with the loss during the Holidays.. ![]() |

I just saw your thread and wanted to send my condolences on your loss. I'm sure Ariel was a very important and loved member of your family. In September, I lost my beloved Scottie to kidney failure. It is a horrid condition and I'm sorry you had to face this. My little girl was with me 5 days short of 7 years. We never have enough time with them, do we?
When the time is right, a new dog will find you. Ariel lives on in your heart. Your love for her has allowed your heart to grow and welcome a new love. |
