Richmond Hill Dog Park Grand Opening Pics

On October 25th, 2009, the Richmond Hill Dog Park had it's official opening with the mayor coming to do a ribbon cutting. It was so busy, SO many people came out to check out the park! It was amazing. I run the website right now, it has more photos on it http://rhk9klub.ca/openinggallery.html

Nova and I were exhausted. We got there early to bring and set-up agility equipment.. and were the very last to leave. We were there for about 5-6 hours. Nova was off-leash almost the whole time, and met more than 100 different dogs. She had a blast, and was relatively well behaved! She didn't get into any fights, or bare her evil teeth more than a few times, which is very good for her. ;D

The most amazing thing was that despite there being so many dogs and people, it went extremely smoothly and all the dogs were getting along great.

So here are my favorite photos from the day!

Mayor cutting the ribbon - now officially opened!

Only some of the park, and this was later in the afternoon when it wasn't as busy.

Different angle of the park, can see Nova wandering around

Happy dog walking with his owner

Nova making some friends! (She needs the practice!)

Boxer pooped out from all the playing

Such a big variety of dog breeds and sizes came out! From chihuahua's to great pyrenes.. was cool to see!

Cocker Spaniel X, knew I was taking their picture! lol

Okay, just a few more, I promise.. I'm picking these from over 70 photos, hard to choose!

And there's a zebra!!

...

no, just an escaped weimaraner convinct =P

We held a halloween costume contest.

Wonderful pics! Some great action shots. Love the weimaraner convict. I miss seeing pics of angledog's Jag. Seeing that one helps.

I was there today with my two and they loved it! If it doesn't rain, I'm bringing them back again tomorrow.

Spatx that is wicked! I didn't even know this park was going in. You even managed to get a separate small dogs area from what I'm reading. Will have to go check it out for sure, and I love the fact that your park association has a website, I wish more did. It's such a great way to communicate park news to people who aren't always in the in-crowd.

Congratulations!!

Thanks! I'm so happy that RH finally got a dog park, considering the population and size of York Region, it's really needed. So far things are going well, but it's brand new and were still all learning what it takes to keep it running smoothly.

Off to do some website updates in a little.. maybe I'll see some of the pets.ca members out there! I usually have a camera stuck to my face though,

Hope to see you there! I can only go on weekends because it's still pretty far for me. You'll know be by either the White Shepherd or people pointing at my other dog and the constant "What kind of dog is that?"
