So my tie idea from last month was a total bust

Anyone got good ideas suitable for both cats and dogs for this month's challenge?

Pets playing with their favorite summer toys.

keeping your pets cool in the hot summer weather?

Have we ever featured "Bath Time"????

3 separate ideas - all good ones - time to put on that king Solomon hat and split the baby in 3.

water can be a toy for some pets right...So how about Pets and water (even if it's been done already)?

That way it could cover the cool theme, the toy theme and the bath theme?

what do you think?

Hi members!

Suggestion posts merged and the theme this month will be pets and water.

Could be pets drinking water, playing in water, bathing in water, cooloing down in the water, etc.

Ok then - who will post first?

maybe you will just have to be very creative with your pictures Marko

well since we've been having some very hot days, we finally set up the pool for the little ones (yup, I bought a pool for the dogs )

First they were not sure what was going on, Guero likes going in and out, Bestia, hmmm, not to crazy about water.

Great pics Jull, I'd like to join the pups!

Marko, I knew it! I can see Baci slinking away from you right now .

I want to try to find a kiddie pool, but the hard plastic ones, the Mal's would destroy a blowup pool in seconds. Halo, of course being a lab, will want nothing to do with a pool! Yes it's ironic isn't it.

A pic of them with their "pupsicles" may have to do, when they melt they are water.....

The look on Twiggy's face may tell you what the toothbrush was for! Okay, I'm kidding. I'm guessing it's a hair brush! I think your rinse time must be way less than mine is with the Malamutes!

Thx for the comments - the toothbrush is to scrub her tail. It gets really greasy.

I love that last shot, Jull. He looks like he's planning a ninja attack!

We were wrong, Marko! We were worried about Baci but he seems to really like bathtime!! Twiggy, on the other hand...well, I hope you slept with one eye open for a few days! If looks could kill... (A lady never wants to be photographed during her bath, don't ya know!)

Love those shots Jull...especially that last one, I can just hear a little bitty dog voice "a little help please..hello...anybody!!" lol Marko your lovely duo is so photogenic (Carmy too). I hear Twiggy saying "Ok beam me up now, I have had enough!" Baci just looks so content and he looks like he is just happy to be Carmy's center of attention.

All great pics. Last night the Mal's were drinking from the hose and I thought of the thread, but I couldn't get the camera out with me. Will try it again soon with camera in hand.

Okay, not too spectacular really, but did get a pic of the pups drinking from the hose while I was watering the other night. They love to drink from it and chase it while I'm spraying.

Also got a pic of the bee's who congregate on the water fountain in the front yard. They sit on the edge to drink, so I always worry about the dogs drinking there (a favourite for Nikki). So far no stings. The bee's sit on the edge, they drown if they get deep into the water.

The pups are cute drinking from the hose!

Fascinating how the bees will come for drinks, too! I've never seen that before! Do they do that often, DD?

My mum puts a small piece of wood in the dish the crows drink out of so the bees can sit on it don't drown when they take a drink.

The bees are really pretty , I have not seen so many together in a long time. The yellowjackets do that with the water I put out for the birds. It'srunny how dogs like to drink running water. I was trying to pour some water from a bottle into Marty's bowl and he wanted to drink the water right from the bottle. I would not had mind but I wanted some water too from the same bottle.

Marko, the kitties will be glad when July is over!

Growler, I normally have a few sticks floating in the water for the bee's too. Nikki likes to pull those out though. So sometimes they are there, sometimes they are not.

Hazel, yes the bee's need water and fresh running water is a favourite. There are always bee's at the fountain. I had a neighbour (he moved recently and since passed away) who used to come to tell me daily how many bee's were at his bird bath. At first he was afraid to put water in it, but I explained how they need water so he started filling it again. Last night somebody was swimming in the dogs water dish out in the back yard (and it wasn't Nikki).

Thank you Jull, I love Nikki's markings too. He has such an expressive face.

Barkingdog, they love drinking from the bottle too. I let them have their own bottle every now and then so they can do it. I actually like that they will do that because if we go for a walk it's easy to carry a couple bottles of water with us. Halo won't drink from the bottle at all.
