training at a 1 and a half

HI, we have a collie, retriever, healer X and his name is Buddy, he sits and comes when we call him, I want to train him to do more but is it hard to train him at a year and a half?? obedience training a good idea? he's not a bad dog by any means. Help

Obedience training - which makes dogs more socially acceptable and happier and better companions - is always a good idea.

Your dog is barely past puppyhood and there is no age at which a dog cannot learn.

It is never too late to train - and it is always very valuable and important.
It would be like saying you were too old to learn a new job or have a new relationship, and you aren't.
