10 month old cairn terrier pees on floor when she is upset

Hi,

My 10 month cairn terrier has potty trained. She usually pees on the newspaper on shoe tray (her toilet).

in past two weeks, her pee appear next to her toilet. I thought it could be accident. this problem seems occuring more frequently.

it seems she is upset about something.. I am not sure.

How can I stop her from peeing on floor but her toilet.

thanks
Alic

Are you keeping her toilet area nice and clean? Perhaps she got startled once when she was there and now associates the spot with that?

I would suggest going back to potty training basics. Perhaps consider having her tethered to you with a leash for a few days so you can tell when she needs to potty. When she does go there then be sure to praise her and possibly reward with a treat.

Good luck .
