Questions to ask new vet

It's a decision I've thought long and hard about, but I think I'm going to switch vets for J & T.

I LOVE my current vet. I've been going to them for almost 10 years (since I was old enough to start paying my own vet bills ). I have a great relationship with ALL of their staff, and there has been so many occasions where they've gone above and beyond for me and my dog. And in cases were they weren't able to do so, they referred me to a specialist who could (ie, cardiac specialist, doggy dentist for root canals, etc).

The problem is, I've now moved out of the city. And I think it's just too much to travel home 45 minutes from work, pick up the dogs, and then drive 45 minutes to the vets office, and then back home again.
Right now, my dogs are healthy and really only going once a year for their annual exams. But I thought about it, and if I'm gong to make the switch to someone closer, I'd rather do it now when they're young and healthy, rather than later on when they start developing health concerns.

I've done some searching online in my area, and talked to a few neighbours, and I've found a place that I'm interested in. They're not the official emergency vet in the area, but they are open 24 hrs, which means if I did have issue late at night, at least I'd be taking them to a place that already has all of their medical charts.
They also seem to be up on new technology and surgery technics, etc (based on their website).

I'm going to be calling them soon to book an appointment to meet some of their staff and have a tour of the place. But it's been so long since I've been "vet shopping". What should I be looking and asking for???
