Kona's off to the vet tomorrow :(
I had her out in the dog park yesterday and I'm thinking that she scratched her right eye a little on some grass when we were playing fetch. She started getting a yellowish discharge last night, and its still coming out today. Its basically the normal sleepy eye stuff that we all get, but quite a bit more than I'm comfortable with. Her eye doesn't seem to be itchy, and when I examined it, I cannot see any scratches, but with a little research it basically points to an eye infection. So better safe than sorry, she gets to go in tomorrow afternoon.
paws crossed, and it'll only be a weeks worth of eyedrops. anyone else here have any experience with this? |

I'm sorry no experience with this but I have to say what a sweet looking dog. She looks right in your eyes in this photo, how old is your girl.

Ahhhhh, beautiful dog!!!!!!
The eye could be an allergy picked up from the park. My girl gets this in the summer when we are around longer grass and weeds. My vet had me get some human Opto-Tears and I use those on her when I see any problems coming. You are right to visit your vet and see what they say. Let us know how it goes. No experience either. You're a good mom. This type of thing is the simplest when treated early. Let us know how it goes. Beautiful photo!

um, been called alot of things in life, but mom is definately a first...dad I can live with. Thanks for the compliments all the same though
Kona just turned 2 this past june. Not too sure on the exact mix, but its basically been narrowed down to border collie, golden retriever, and perhaps abit of husky. (can you say high energy!?!) She's actually really well behaved though, just have to keep her busy, and exercised. |

I haven't had a chance to get back here until now, but all went well at the vet.
He figured its either from playing with another dog, or when she was running thru the grass. No scratches, just some irritation. He gave me some drop's (Prednisolone) to give her three times a day for a week that should fix her up good as new |

She takes alot of her cues from a golden, its when you look really closely at her behaviour, the way she moves, and some of her features that you realize she isn't. She's quite abit lighter than a pure golden also, her last weigh in was 43 lbs.

I thought she was a golden too and I have one myself
I think she is so cute and remember goldens come very light shade too. She is small but you know 2 weeks ago at my Vet I saw a 147pound Golden 7yrs old and in great shape my eyes out of my head we have a golden across my street that 100 pounds, not sure about my little Blaze hope he stays on the small side. Glad everything is good with her eye and she is going to be good as new. |
