Unhappy Old Dog

My Old dog is 17 years old, She has started to pee in the house. This is really not like her. Is it possible she has an infection or could I have a bigger problem. She also seems to be stiff in her back end, this too is new.

Could be an infection, but the only way to be sure is to take her to the vet for tests.

Well, she is seventeen so it very easily could be a weakening bladder. But always start off by ruling out the obvious ~ taking a urine sample for analysis and culture to the Vet should be your first step. If it turns out to be a weaking bladder ask your Vet whether phenylpropanolamine would help tighten up her bladder sphincter at her age.
