my chow is hyper

My chow gets hyper. I don't know if it's from a medication reaction or what. She takes thyroid medication and she is also on rimydal for her hip. She starts going in and out almost like she's confused. She can't sit still, and paces around. She will not let me sleep and can't sit or lay for more than a minute. Could it be from medication? Or just old age? She doesn't do it all the time. But it's worse than tryng to take care of an upset baby. Please help!
