4/1 Deteriorated further; symptoms amplified. X-ray done. Showed no cancer or tumors. Showed arthritis.

Prescribed Baytril 60mg 1 per day for 3 days.

5/2 No improvement. Doesn’t eat. Doesn’t get up.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do for my dog?

Where are you located? Was Buddy exposed to ticks any time in the past few months? High WBC and low platelets with lameness often indicates tick-borne disease. We see that a lot with anaplasmosis. Test results can be misleading, so we usually treat with doxycycline or amoxicilin even if the snap test is negative and see if there is improvement. If there is, we keep them on antibiotics for at least 4 weeks.

Sorry I have no advice for you, but I'd try anything Hazel has to suggest! She's seen just about everything with her pack (I think she was a vet in another life to tell you the truth...).

Good luck with your pup. Don't give up hope.

I was hoping that the OP would return, but for anyone else out there that reads thi, there is a yahoo group for IBD dogs, and they know an awful lot about PLE.

There are alo special diets to help with this, and additional B-12 is esential.
