Breed suggestions, please!

OK, folks. Now I'm thoroughly confused. We were told she's a Shep/Collie/Husky/Golden cross. At obedience class last night, the trainer suggested Akita? So I started looking at more breeds in a dog book & on-line this morning, and now I'm thinking there might be some Keeshond in there ('cause of the markings around her eyes?)? I know - just love her for who she is. But Akitas tend to be dog agressive. If that's the case, I'd like to be forewarned so I can work on it with her (and it might explain her behavior at class!). What do you think??

I see the German Shepherd, and maybe Golden, but see no Akita. Of course there is no way to tell.

Don't worry about any dog aggression. That's what obedience classes are for. A don't can't go for another dog if he's in a "sit".

I can't see any Akita what-so-ever. My brother has had two Akita-X and never had a dog-aggression problem. Not that it isn't a common characteristic, but his dogs received a lot of training and socialization.

My step dad looked at the picture and doesn't see any akita at all. He breed and showed them for 10 years so he would probably know. He also says that if there is any akita in your dog as long as it's socailized properly you'll never have any problems. none of his akitas were dog or people aggressive at all because they were around new dogs and people often which kept them used to it. since your going to obedience school you shouldn't have any problems at all. I loved the pictures by the way your dog is very cute and sweet.

Thanks everyone! I can now go back to obedience classes next week and say with conviction, "Nope. No Akita." (as opposed to the "um, well, maybe, I dunno" response I gave last week ). Oh, and she's stopped shedding - I mean completely stopped shedding. Now, I know some dogs do this for a short period, and then change coats and start shedding like demons, so I'm not disallusioning myself that this is a permanent thing. But, hey, one can dream, right? Maybe she has some Poodle in her background! Yeah! Shepherd, Collie, Golden, Husky ... and Poodle - maybe she's a Sholloldenskypoo!! OK - I need more sleep.

(chuckles as she types)

Wanna hear the latest? I've had about 5 people in the last week tell me that she looks like a Coyote! Isn't that hilarious?!

Yeah, Luba - she's a Coyingo! I think it's the ears that throw everyone - they look almost too big for her head. That and the fact that she's so tall and slender. They say dogs look like their owners & vice-versa. If that's the case, one of us is going to have to start doing some serious morphing!!
