Ok Chris...very sad and I wonder if the law has anything to do with this.
What I find absolutely puzzling however is the age estimate. As I stated before in previous threads, I have had to have EXACT proof of age and at times a vet estimate just was not good enough.

There are so many holes in this ban. I am pleased that the dog will be granted immunity but it puzzles me.

I wonder if the dog age is estimated at this certain age in order to sensationalize on the abuse case and distract from the fact that she is a pitbull.

I hope that she is a fine canine citizen and used as an example of courage, and more so FAITH IN MANKIND to overcome the cruelty in the hands of MAN.

Thanks to her earth angel for taking the time and care. Bless her little pittie heart.

So very glad that someone had the heart to rescue this sweet girl. Praying that she recovers well and finds a deserving and loving home.

Thank dawg for the person that rescued her.

But what a shame that she had to endure that extent of cruelty. I hope she has a speedy recovery and finds the wonderful home that she deserves.

I'm so happy she is being given a second chance and not being euthanized since she had no muzzle... or maybe she was wandering with one??? Perhaps why she is starving.
Nice to see that one more is safe... for now

The article and picture brought me to tears, but cheered when I read someone "decided" she is 6 yrs old and therefor safe
They did say she is a Staffordshire Terrier,a banned breed
I am glad she is being fostered in a home and gets fed 5 times daily.
Maybe this pup will one day be the spokes-dog for her breed and all the other bullie-breeds

I don't think so, in the article it says that the feet had the colouring to make them believe she had been standing in urine and feces.

What I find absolutely puzzling however is the age estimate. As I stated before in previous threads, I have had to have EXACT proof of age and at times a vet estimate just was not good enough.

It suits the purpose of keeping her safe....maybe she won't stay in this province.

That's quite likely.

Ethel knows Debbie Houghton from Durham Humane...she says she's a fine woman and will do good by Gracie

Thank goodness somebody stopped for Gracie

I was wondering about the age estimation too, some people have such good hearts . If she was found in another district, she could have been euthanized on the spot .

Do I sense a bit of sarcasm??? This law in Ontario is just ridiculous .

No Iwasnt being sarcastic I dont think so anyway.
I'm actually very happy that they arent going to pick on her for not being completely in compliance. Its unusual for Ontario. Amazing that no one from another district is getting their nose out of joint. She has indeed suffered enough, but that doesn't mean much in Ontario

I wasn't sure if you were commenting on the horribly ridiculous law or not. I really feel if poor Gracie was found in a different district where they were out to get rid of any pitbull, or pitbull look-a-like she would be dead now.

Yay Durham Humane Society.

Hopefully Chris will be able to keep us updated on her progress

I do worry about the publicity of that story though.
Even just here the "approximate age" was questioned.
Dont think a bully hater out there that read that also questioned it and has started emailing anyone with their train of thought.
"Pitbulls" are still making the media a lot of money and just having them covering anything, even a good news story, makes me a little scared for the dog.

Well thankfully someone decided she was worth saving!
Another heartwarming story.
I hope Gracie makes a full recovery and hopefully ppl just let her live her life in peace.

It depends who you are dealing with Erykah, there are many A/C's and Humane Society's that ship so-called illegal dogs out of this povince....The problem is that there are so many in need that refuges cannot be found for all of them

Very true statement. Take AC in London Ontario...they will fight to the bitter end to destroy an animal however there are others that will make efforts to assist one out of province if need be.
