Capote - 2005
I loved Philip Seymour Hoffman (Cold Mountain, Flawless, Owning Mahowny )
as Truman Capote, celebrated American author. He really delves into Capote's character and offers up a rich dynamic portrayal of a narcissistic egocentric eccentric. The film centers around the research and the relationship he formed with one of the killers Perry Smith, for his book In cold blood, about a murdered family in a small town in Kansas in the late 50's. It explores the conflict and mixed motives of Capote for befriending the killers. I give this film an 8.5/10 |

That sounds good. I also LOVED "Owning Mahowny" and think Hoffman gave a wonderfully unstated performance in it. Had to love Minnie Driver's "Canuck" accent.
I'd love to see the Capote movie. "In Cold Blood" is a masterpiece, although extremely disturbing. |
