TQ, not likely as his brother who had a 2/6 murmur no longer has one. We'll know for sure next week after his vet appointment.

Checkers, now Ollie, has left with his amazing new family this morning. I know I keep repeating myself but, Cuddles has been the best mom ever. Right until the end with her last puppy, she's been playing and taking the best care of him. I think it's what's making today really hard .

Here they are during their last outing together this morning.

for all the effort LP...such a bittersweet job.
Give Cuddles hugs today...she will be feeling a little sad today too.
By the time Shadow's pups left she had completly given their care over to me.....
Any interest in Cuddles...she was such a little sweetheart thru all this...and raised some beautiful little puppies...of course with you help LP.

LP,I cannot think of a word to describe what kind of person you are,I think simply wonderful is not enough, you are a little lady with a HUGE heart
Of course wishy, washy me,gets all weepy..but I am really happy you found the pups good homes.
They are so incredibly cute and brave, strong little Cuddles sure was a great mommybut she knew, she and her babies were safe with you.

I often wonder if cats/dogs feel the losses of their babies and get depressed when they leave,do they???

Is there a teeeny, weeeny chance you will be a fosterfailure with Cuddles????

I think that's what is so special about Cuddles; she took such good care of her babies. I'm sure she appreciated the breaks she got from the little savages but, she was constantly looking out for them. I thought mommy dogs got tired of their wee ones after a while but Cuddles never did.

No interest so far. I'm sure her age has a lot to do with it. I'll be taking her to an adoption clinic next weekend so people can get to meet her. We have yet to have visitors who haven't been totally smitten by her wiggly bum and affection.

I've been wondering that a lot lately too. So far she's doing really well and soaking up all the attention we're lavishing on her. We took down the playpen today and gave almost all the remaining toys to Checkers. Cuddles now has her bed set up right next to my son's bed with the blankie her and the pups have been sleeping on so she still has their scent.

I'd give my right arm if that were a possibility . Our family is just not a right match for her with our other guys. Nukka's still a young hyper girl and Lucky would spend all his time guarding Cuddles. Penny's still not 100%, in fact, she had a meltdown last week so we just can't take that chance, Chico. It wouldn't be fair to Cuddles. For now though, we're taking the best care of her and she's getting all the attention and affection she deserves until we find her the perfect home.

She's approx.11yrs old right and could have another 4 or more happy years, with the right owner.

LP. Were I in your shoes I know how I'd feel.
Give Cuddles an extra hug or two for me please. I wish I had room for her.

LP...Checkers got adopted? That is great! Last time I heard no one had asked about him. Did he get adopted by friends?

Cuddles is so cute...I hope someone adopts her soon.

Aww, so many tears and smiles reading this thread.

I hope you get lots of updates on the puppies that you can share with us.

Good luck for Cuddles .....I know you will find her the perfect home as well but it's going to be so hard for you to see her go.

After consulting with Cuddles' vet this morning, it was decided that she would go in for an emergency spay. We just returned from the hospital and will be given an update tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Such a wonderful journey LP and many thanks for keeping us all up-to-date with Cuddles and the clan.

It was truly a heart warming experience and can't think of better arms for these little blessings to be in other than yourself.

So will Cuddle go up for adoption after the spay....are you contemplating a "foster failure?"

I've met Cuddles a few times , and every time , I was surprise on how good she was , health wise and mentally. You would never believe she's 11 yr old. So I'm sure the surgery will go just fine.

You and I both, Shaykeija, but, Cuddles' surgery went well . I just received the call and she's resting now. She will be kept overnight on fluids and I'll be calling by noon tomorrow to see if she can come home.
