Domesticated bunny released outside

Hi everyone I am looking for some advice. My neighbour has decided he no longer wants his domesticated bunny so he has let him/her outside. (Not sure if he/she is a boy or girl but I will refer to him/her as a boy to save time)I play with him, feed him, and give him water daily but I cannot take him inside as I am currently living with my dad and he won't allow it. He is very sweet and lets people pet him but he does not allow me to pick him up. I live in Southern Ontario and I am scared that he won't survive the winter out there alone. Last night I heard noises outside so I went to check it out and a family of raccoons were in his normal hangout, I scared them away and then luckily found the bunny hiding in another location in my yard. I tried to lure him into my house for the night (my dad isn't home for a few days) but he wouldn't come and I was afraid to try to pick him up when he was already so frightened. I have no idea what to do but it's breaking my heart to see him out there Please help

You could bring a rabbit to a vet and say you found it in your yard ,the poor thing it not going to last long and you really should had reported your neighbor for animal abuse if you have any laws about this. Do have an ACO or shelter that would take the rabbit or even a school . You should not wait too long the poor rabbit will be eaten by an animal in no time.

Another thought--if your dad is okay with you keeping the bunny as long as it's outside, could you build it a hutch? Maybe a snug insulated shelter inside a metal mesh enclosure? You can probably find some good rabbit hutch plans online and build one rather cheaply. Once it's in there, though, you'll have to be diligent about the food and water since he won't be able to forage on his own anymore...

Not sure what to say, build some shelter and feed it if you're willing, otherwise take out an ad on the internet and see if someone is willing to home it. It's already been abandoned and probably won't survive.

Went camping with the gf a couple of months ago, on the way back her son sent a text saying he had a bunny for a pet. Thought he was kidding. He was walking the dog and someone drove by, threw a box out the window. Her son didn't think much of it but the dog went nuts after the box. There was a young domestic bunny inside, cute little thing. It's happy, healthy and thriving.

Oh, that's horrible, rhynes! So glad it ended well for the bunny! I don't 'get' that sort of thing, either...

This one reason why people should NOT give bunnies or babies chicks as an Easter gift . I bet there a lot bunnies that end up being throwed way about this time of year they're no longer little and cute and poop like crazy.
