Shih Tzu, maltese etc hair cuts

Well It's time for hair cuts again. We have 8 shih tzus and a lhasa poo. I for one am tired of doing the same puppy cut over and over. I'm really good at it now. lol! The only difference is I either leave the ears long or cut them short. There HAS to be other hair styles for these types of dogs. I have taken out grooming books from the library, I ordered some online, I watched some video's. I even signed up for a doggie grooming course. I now know how to express my dog's anal glads, cut her toes, clean her ears, give her a puppy cut (most of which I already knew). But no variety in styles. A shih Tzu grooming book I found only tells me how to groom a shih tzu in full coat. I know how to do that too!

So I'm asking for help. If you have a yorkie, maltese, lhasa apso, shih tzu, shih poo, morki, malta poo etc and you like your dog's hair cut please post a picture, or tell me how it looks. If you know of a website that has pictures or discriptions of different styles PLEASE let me know.

Thanks soooo much

Have you tried these sites?

http://www.groomers.net
http://www.petgroomer.com
http://www.groomertogroomer.com

For the body you could do different lengths, leave the legs a couple blade lengths longer, I wonder how a skirt would look on a Shih Tzu lol try doing it like a westie clip on the body.

For the head you could do short round or leave a long beard, long ears, short ears, shaved ears, shaved muzzle and longer on the top of the head?...

This is what I usually do with Shih Tzus - puppy cut

And here is a dog that is longer on the legs

Maybe you could post pictures of your dogs to see what kind of a cut would look good on each of them?

my slight variation on the puppy cut

http://www.pets.ca/forum/showthread....hlight=haircut

the after pics

short on body/legs, long on tail, ears, and top of head so that she can still wear pigtails or top knot.
even worn loose it looks different then the average puppy cut, as seen in my avatar.

I got it done by a groomer who will do pretty much anything I want as long as it will not harm the dog.

not very different, I know, but I like it

If you put a black mask on Melei and dipped the tips of her ears in black paint she would look exactly like Cooper. AND Cooper is wearing that same summer cut ! Too cute. He really needs it cut short since he wants to be wherever his humans are even if it's hot out.

We started cutting Melei short even thought the first groomer didn't want to touch her coat until she was older..so we found a new groomer

Anyway, Melei is kept in a short coat and will keep having that even in the winter because she goes to work with us at the shop and oil/grease is impossilbe to get out of long hair and if she has a long coat, she starts to smell like gasoline, even though she never touches it.

I have t-shirts and hoodies to keep her warm if she needs it on the cooler days and she never did like the all over brushing but will sit for the amount of time it takes for me to do her ears, head and tail and cut her nails.

If your dog has been in full coat it will feel different to be compeletly shaved off, but I"m sure that he'll turn around soon.

Here's a pic of my dog, if any one has any suggestions.

As you can see they all basically have the same hair cut. I'd like to at least make Roxie look different. Any one have any ideas?
