Yorkie ears not up
My (AKC registered) Yorkie is 3 months old and his ears are not up. They are up about 2/3 of the ear, but the last 1/3 flops over. If the dog's head is well back with the nose pointed up, then the ears will fall back in the "up" position. The distal half of the ears are shaved as close as possible. Questions: How much longer should I wait before taping his ears? Or, have I already waited too long?
Thanks for any advise GJ |

Not all Yorkies have ears that stand - some may be semi-pricked. Others can take 6 months to stand. Unless you are showing this dog, it's not important, but you can tape them for a few days if you wish.

You should tape them as soon as possible for a week. We use painters masking tape on both sides. Make sure that the ear set is correctly placed when taping. Leave on for one week, remove tape and see how they look. sometimes it takes 2 or 3 weeks for a proper set.

I think she's in trouble then... It's probably too late... (old post )
