owner anxiety

My 2.5 year old boxer is well trained and healthy. She is left at home for about 7 hours maybe twice each week while we are at work. During that time my wonderful neighbour comes in 2-3 times to let her out and play with her. She has the run of the house and never chews or destroys anything and sleeps most of the day. She doesn't seem to mind being at home alone at all. She also receives daily walks and runs when I get home. The problem is me. I worry all day that she is lonely and misses me. I would appreciate any advice that would decrease my anxiety about leaving her. We are also going on two weeks vacation which also causes me worry but my son and daughter in law will be here all the time. My daughter in law is off work for the summer and is home all day. Thank you for any advice. Zoey

Hi Zoey,

You sound like the perfect pet owner.

Given all that you do for your dog, your anxiety seems a bit unwarranted.

Let's face it, we all have to work....AND go on vacation from time to time.

But you are taking GREAT steps to keep your pet happy and occupied while you are away.

From the sound of it your pet IS happy and you should be proud that you're doing such a great job.

Try and have a good vacation

Bart
