out of country-pet adoption regulations

Hello
I am looking to adopt a pet that is originally from Canada and moved to Africa, but cannot handle the climate so is coming back. Will the dog need to be quarantined and if so, for how long??
If anyone knows anything about this topic help would be great thanks!

I guess it depends on the country and maybe other factors, I would send them an email with all the relevant details.
