I meant to type Russian Wolfhound . They have a very keen sense of smell.
I lived in Northern California and I was visiting some friends that where taking care of a Russian Wolfhound for a friend. I meet the dog only that one time.
I moved back to the city and drove there in a difference car. One day I opened the door to my apartment and there was the Russian Wolfhound ! He was about 150 miles from home. I was really surprised the dog had found me. Two days later my friend that was watching the dog came to visit and almost fell over when he saw his friend's dog at my apartment. He said the dog has been stolen a few times, we had no idea if that happen this time but it was amazing how the dog was able to find my apartment as he never seen or smelled the car I drove in . I never met the dog owner , I guess I made a good impression on the dog for it had travel all that way to my apartment. It was great that my friend came out for a visit as there where no phone lines in the part of Northern California we lived in . It saved me from having to go back up there.
