I am terrified of spiders and this one took up residence just outside my patio doors. Sorry the pic quality isn't the greatest.
This thing made a web that was the biggest I had ever seen! It went from my pagoda and was approx 5ft wide, 3 or 4 ft from top to bottom and it eventually attached to the garage which is approx 6 ft from the back of the house.

As terrified as I was, I didn't let my kids kill it, this spider amazed me with it web, when I would let the dogs out at night, I would stand with a broom just incase it decided to drop down to "bite" my dogs.

I have never seen a spider like this before, it was simply huge!

Oy, I soooo can't download the pics over my modem today

Is it a big black and yellow wolf spider? They had a good year around here They're harmless if that's what it looks like...

I don't think it's a wolf spider......I was thinking an orb spider because of it's abdomen shape.

And they make the most intriguing webs like that one looks to be.

I used to be terrified of spiders, but not any more,I think they are amazing little creatures,as long as they are not on me
Never kill a spider
This one does look like it's full of eggs.

I think a spider bit me in Myrtle Beach(SC),it did not hurt, but my knee swelled up to double it's size and it was hard to the touch and hot.

Rats!! The pics are still too big, 14+! I could probably download the one that rainbow made smaller, but it won't load from the thread cuz it's trying to download the big ones, first. (My modem is slow and dumb! )

Tawny gold, eh? Hmmmm....I don't think we have any like that around here. We have a few crab spiders that are white with pretty red markings (they remind me of my peony blossoms ) but they're pretty small

I agree, chico! They are definitely amazing lil critters!

Oh goodie! Does that mean I can take the pics off my comp now?
I thought about the smaller size after I sent them so went in and downsized them. Brain blip. Should have done it first.

I don't know what kind of spider it is but if it was at my house it would be called a "dead spider."

Yes...you may cleanse your machine of the nasty spider pics, 14+! But for thinking of me!

Ya, that hazel can be such a pest, eh?

It's still a spider, though...deliciously creepy!

I feel about Spiders and Frenchy does about mice!!!

When I find them in my area (or near the cats) they are given one warning to disappear before I get back.... or it's a toilet send off for them! I know they kill other bugs and stuff but.... ew. Plus when I was in Arkansas I had to kill a poisonous one.... and I'm STILL traumatized (and scared of them all)!!!

An orb or a jewel? Ok well as long as it isn't poisonous.
Do you think it will return next year or will it die off during the winter?

If she had babies and they make their way into the house, they will meet their death by flyswatter...no matter how much "mama spider" intrigued me.

I dunno what they are. I just call them porch spiders cause my porch get taken over by them. Even though the broom of death comes through ever so often they are all over the ceiling of my porch.

They get quiet disgustingly large.

The only good thing about them is that I am thinking of putting a sign that says beware of spiders.. with an arrow pointing up. That should deter criminals and religious zealots
